The USB Version of the Managed Switch Port Mapping Tool runs from and is entirely contained on a USB Flash Drive. No installation is required. It is portable software that runs on versions of Windows supporting access to a USB Flash Drive.

Question: I want to put this on a drive that plugs into the USB port - ie. a portable hard drive or SSD or an SD type card. Will it work? No, this software must run from a USB flash drive.

April 15, 2013 - Sequim WA. Northwest Performance Software Inc. is proud to announce the release of a fully portable version of the Managed Switch Port Mapping Tool that runs from a USB Flash Drive when used on the Windows operating system. The application software is fully contained on the USB flash drive and does not require installation. All data is saved to the flash drive and the application completely operates from the flash drive. Simply plug the USB flash drive into a Windows XP or later USB 2.0 (or 3.0) port and start the application on the flash drive. NOTE (2017): support for XP has been dropped and we ship 128GB drives.

The application software is offered preconfigured on a 16GB USB 3.0/2.0 compatible high speed flash drive or as a download fileset allowing the enduser to install the software on their own high speed USB flash drive (with assistance from our technical support).

NetScanTools Pro USB Version users may elect to purchase this new software to compliment their existing software on their current USB flash drive.

There is no trial of the USB Version - please try the installed version from the Download page - it operates from your hard drive - the USB version will operate the same except that all the results are saved on the USB drive.
