Problem: after a long period of
continuous use the ARP table (mac addresses to IP
addresses) and the resolver table (IP address to
hostnames) appears to get stale. These tables are
populated as you use the software and are used to
rapidly lookup information as needed. They are not
automatically refreshed.
How to clear the tables and force updating
Method
1: Exit the program periodically. There are
checkboxes in Global Settings for erasing the ARP
table and IP/hostname resolver table automatically on exit.
Make sure they are checked.
Method 2: If you cannot exit the
program daily, click on the lower left control panel
button Database Maintenance. Make sure Combined ARP
Table is selected, press Erase Viewed Table. Next,
select IP/Hostname Resolver and press Erase Viewed
Table.
